Scavenger Hunt 4 (5•24•23)

Today was our last day of the scavenger hunt, we visited The British Library, Camden Market, Shakespeare tree at Primrose hill, the BT Tower, and Queen Mary’s Rose Garden. We’re able to visit and explore each location this afternoon because we had completed our museum tour in the morning and had the rest of the afternoon to go around the city.

First, we took the British Museum to see the Magna Carta.  The British Museum acquired one of the original copies of the Magna Carta in 1753, and it is now displayed in the museum's Treasures of the British Library gallery. The document is a highly important piece of history which is why it is displayed behind a plexiglass box for display. The museum provides information about the document's origins, its impact on legal and political systems, and its enduring influence on human rights and freedoms. The Magna Carta is one of the highlights of the British Museum's collection.

Following this, we too the Tube to a location where we could view the BT Tower. Before it was the BT Tower, it was formerly known as the Post Office Tower, is a prominent telecommunications tower located in London, England. It is one of the city's iconic landmarks and has played a significant role in the communication infrastructure of the United Kingdom.

Our group then headed over to Primrose hill, which is located next to Convent Garden. There we enjoyed peaceful views of the city and enjoyed the weather. We wandered around the park and found the Shakespearean Tree. The tree represents significance to Shakespeare's works or have a connection to the playwright. Primrose hill was very close to Camden Market where we headed for the rest of the afternoon.

Camden market is one of my favorite areas in London. There are thrift stores, food stands, and much more located in the market. You can find a wide variety of goods and products, including clothing, accessories, vintage items, antiques, artwork, crafts, and more. The market has a reputation for alternative fashion, with many unique and quirky clothing and accessory options available. Camden Market is not just about shopping and eating; it also has a vibrant atmosphere with live music performances, street performers, and a creative and artistic vibe. The surrounding area of Camden Town itself is known for its music scene and alternative subculturesThe most important thing about visiting these markets is that everything is one of a kind. The things that you will find will be personal to you, and I felt that while I was exploring the market.

Today was definitely a highlight for me, although we walked around a lot, I was able to enjoy it everyday. We were seeing and experiencing things that we will be able to keep with us for the rest of our lives. Taking the time to reflect on each and every activity, market, garden, tower, and monuments has been very impactful during my time in London.  Looking forward to tomorrow!
